We can't deny the fact that these days, more and more people experience lack of sleep. Most of these people are college students who are finishing their requirements at night and choosing to stay up all night just to get good grades. 


A human body requires at least 7-8 hours of sleep for it to properly function. What we all aren't aware of is that lack of sleep could badly affect our memory, health and even your sex life. 

Here are the side effects of not having enough sleep:



1. Accidenta

Sleep deprivation is one of the factors in the biggest disasters in the history. The 1979 nuclear accident at the Three Mile Island, the massive Exxon Valdez oil spill, the 1986 meltdown at Chernobyl are all caused by people who didn't have enough sleep. 

2. It makes you dumber

Been wanting to have good grades? Then you better start sleeping early and letting your mind and body rest.

3. Health problems

We are aware that sleep deprivation could result to a couple of health problems but we chose to ignore it believing that it's not true. Well, heart disease, heart attack, heart failure, high blood pressure, stroke and diabetes are just some of the diseases that people can get from not having enough sleep and rest. 

4. Kills sex drive

Sleep deprived men and women often have lower libodos and starts to lose interest in sex. 



5. Depression

Lack of sleep and other sleep disorders are contributors to the symptoms of depression.

Researches stated that lack of sleep could affect your sharp memory. They believe that a good sleep and peaceful rest is required for a sharp memory. 

8. Makes you gain weight

Most people believe that lack of sleep make them lose weight. What they didn't know is that lack of sleep leads to hunger and appetite that could often lead to the possibility of being an obese. 

9. Impairs judgement

People who lack sleep were said to be more prone to poor judgement when it comes to telling them what sleep deprivation does to their body. They believe that sleep deprived people aren't aware of what lack of sleep could lead to. 



10. DEATH

It may sound exaggerated but lack of sleep couls really lead to death. British researchers examined at how sleep patterns affect the morality of more than 10,000 people. they then found out that those who sleep for less than 7 hours a night have doubled their risk of death.
