Here is what you need to do:

Face a towel or a dish towel. Fold it in half and sit on a chair or a couch, a place where you can ret your foot. 

Stick the towel behind your knee as far into the joint as it will go, and then bend the knee gently so your foot is planted on the chair/couch surface. 

Then, wrap your hands around your shin and give it a little tug. 

In this way you will create space inside the knee joint and help you relieve some of the pain. 

This will help you keep the knees loose, healthy, and pain-free for the rest of your life.
