Little Girl Who Was Abandoned 12 Years Ago Has A Surprising Message For Her Mom Today

12 years has by since one mother left her newborn baby girl at the fire station on Westminster, Colorado.

She gave the baby girl to two firefighters and left never to be seen again.

When Tom O’Neill answered a knock on the fire station door on February 15, 2003, he was handed the girl.

“Out on this side of the door there was just a couple there and they handed me a baby,” said O’Neill said.

By the law of Colorado, babies no older than 3 days can be left in a hospital or fire station without questions.

And how harsh it sounds but is better with this law.

In 1968, when this law didn’t exist, Michelle Rooney’s mother left her in a garbage can.

“I look at the child,” Paramedic Duane Linkus said of the moment.

“Child looks fine and Tom’s giving me the look in his eyes that something’s going on.

And that’s when it hits me, that she’s here to drop this baby off.”

But the baby girl from the fire station has a lucky.

There was a couple Julie and John Burke, they were having a problem with conceiving  and adopting as well.

A family friend called them, that fateful night in 2003.

“Oh my gosh, there’s a baby left at a fire station,” Julie recalls.

“She was so tiny and the biggest things on her were these big, beautiful, brown eyes.”

They know it from the first time that she would be their daughter.

“After doing fertility treatments for however long we did them, we were like ‘Hallelujah’ now we have a baby,” Julie said.

Now the girl, who is named Halle has 12 years and she knows her story.

She knows where she from and how she get to this family.

Now she has something to tell to her biological mother.
