According to the findings of a recent study, published by The European Journal of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, there’s a type of honey that kills all kinds of bacteria, including the worst ones.

We’re referring to manuka honey, also known as jelly bush honey.

It is produced in New Zealand, and its producers demanded trademark protection.

Manuka Honey Kills Mrsa, Other Superbugs

According to the report by The Australian, manuka honey is effective in killing all the bacteria and pathogens tested in the aforementioned studies.

In order to combat infections on your skin, cuts, and insect bites, you should take it internally or apply it topically.

The great thing about this powerful honey is that none of the neutralized superbugs could develop immunity, which is the major problem with the antibiotics. Dr. Dee Carter of the University of Sydney’s School of Molecular and Microbial Biosciences explains that the methylglyoxal is the compound that makes manuka honey extremely effective at destroying the bacteria.

Where to Find Manuka Honey

Manuka honey can be found in virtually every health store, as well as online.

It is worth noting that there’s also fake honey being sold and hence imperative that you ensure that the manuka honey you’re purchasing is UMF (Unique Manuka Factor) certified. You can find lots of certified manuka products on
